Opa & Oma

Happy 4th of July!

This past week we went to Sunset Beach with Matt's family for our annual 4th of July trip. The entire family was there & we had a great time together hanging out at the pool and on the beach! When we were not at the pool or on the beach, we were hanging out at Oma & Opa's house or Aunt Lynn & Uncle Sandy's house. We played a lot of Corn Hole and ate a lot of really good food.

On Thursday morning, the guys all went deep sea fishing. And even though the all had a good time, they unfortunately, only caught 4 small fish, but we still had a fish fry for dinner. After dinner, BB insisted on a family photo shoot.

On Friday, we headed out to the beach along with ALL of our stuff (2 huge tents, chairs for 15 people, 2 umbrellas, beach towels, bags, toys for the kids, and sevearl large coolers). We spent about 3 hours playing on the beach and Brayden even had his very own little pool under the tent to play in. After cleaning up from the beach, we got ready for a cookout with Papa & Grandma Nita over at Aunt Lynn & Uncle Sandy's house.

Before we could make it to the cookout, this is what happened after a long day on the beach & no nap...

On Saturday, we went shopping at the outlets, out to eat at a big family, & back out to the beach. I will post photos from pool and beach soon - check back in a few days!

Photo update

These are all from the past week or so.

This one is blurry because everytime Brayden sees me, he starts flapping his arms up & down like a bird!!

Cute little feet. They are almost always crossed like this :)

His new thing...holding on when the handle is up on the carseat. The daycare teachers said that he does it in the swing & bouncy seat too. Too funny!

We finally got him to leave the sunglasses on long enough to take a photo!

Happy Father's Day/Matt's Birthday Weekend

Matt's 31st Birthday was on Sunday as well as it being Father's Day! To celebrate, TR came over & keep Brayden so that Matt & I could go to dinner for his birthday. TR always gets some great photos so I left the camera out for her to play around with. Unfortunately, Brayden was a bit fussy, but she still got a few great shots.


We had a great dinner and Matt's mom had made 3 cakes. One for each occasion that we were celebrating!

Brayden enjoyed playing the piano for the first time...maybe he is going to take after most of Matt's family and be a great musician :)


Brayden also got to spend some quality time with his dad, BB, and Paw.





Overall, it was a great, but busy day!

Summertime fun!!

Today we took Brayden swimming at our friend Missy's house! Even though the water was a little chilly at first, Brayden seemed to enjoy floating in the water & eventually decided to splash & kick some. We are looking forward to many more swimming adventures this summer at our community pool & at the beach!!!

Horses & Swings

Last weekend we went to Grammy & Paw's house. They had 2 surprises for Brayden when we arrived!!

1) They had gotten out my old rocking horse (the kind with the springs) for Brayden to ride.
2) They had bought him a swing & had it ready to go in the back yard for Saturday.

Brayden had a blast Friday night riding the horse! He was still a bit small to ride by himself, so someone had to hold onto him the entire time, but he laughed & giggled & squealed the entire time!

On Saturday, Brayden enjoyed the swing for a while. This was really his first experience in a swing (he sat in a swing at the park about 2 months ago, but we didn't really push him much). At first, Brayden wasn't very sure about the swing,



but after a few minutes he really warmed up to it & ended up LOVING it!




A couple of things to note before watching this video...1) I am no good at actually recording videos and 2) this is my first time editing, adding text, music etc to a video. Hopefully, I will improve in both areas.

Visit with the Swanners

On Saturday, Brayden & I went to visit Julie, Steve, & Wesley. Wesley is 6 weeks old today and is growing so fast! Of course, the first time we meet Wesley, neither Julie nor I remembered to take any pictures of the boys together. This time...we remembered!
