Walking...

It's Official! Brayden started walking Friday night! He had been taking a few steps each day for the previous week or so, but Friday...he just took off and walked all the way across the room! I LOVE it!!!

I am working on getting video, but of course, every time I get the camera or video camera out, he stops whatever he is doing. Maybe one day...

Wesley's Baptism

Matt, Brayden, & I attended Wesley's baptisim a few weeks ago in Burlington. Wesley is our godson & the son of my best friend from childhood. Julie & I have been friends since we were the boys ages and I can't wait to watch Brayden & Wesley grow up together! Matt and I were very honored to be chosen as Wesley's godparents and to be a part of his special day!

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was pretty busy for us!

On Friday night, Matt, BB, & Nanna took Brayden to his very 1st NCSU soccer game. Nanna has photos, but hasn't sent them to me yet. I will update the blog with photos when I get them! While they were at the soccer game, I went to some friend's house & helped sort & tag stuff for a huge yard sale on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, Matt helped at the yard sale while Brayden & I cleaned house & ran errands (and Brayden screamed for whatever reason)! Then on Saturday afternoon, we went to Buies Creek for a surprise birthday party for Matt's Uncle Eddie. Before the party, we stopped at Matt's parents house for a little while. BB got out his new toy/ride for Brayden.

So much to update on...but no photos!

So much has been going on recently at our house! Brayden has really taken off developmentally recently!


He started "cruising" the furniture a few weeks ago & has only gotten faster each day. He has also started being able to go from a squatting position to a standing position without support. A few weeks ago, Brayden also took 2 unassisted steps, but then didn't repeat again until this week! Tonight, he took 3 steps unassisted...I think we are just on the verge of really walking! Just in time for his 1st birthday (in 14 days)! I have tried to get a video of Brayden walking, but every time I get out the camera, he sits down & crawls to me!

Brayden has also started being able to place the round & square piece in his shape sorter toy! You can say, "go get the red ball" & he will crawl right to it & bring it back! I think this is pretty impressive considering that usually there are multiple balls on the floor in several different colors! And just tonight at bedtime, we were reading "Goodnight Moon" and I said, "show me the red balloon" and he pointed right to it without hesitation. He did the same thing when I said "show me the kittens".

We also have some molars that are trying to make an appearance I think. Four nights last week, Brayden only slept in 45 minute increments. Let me just say....I was REALLY tired by Wednesday last week. However, so far, no actual teeth have broken through. Hopefully very soon though!

Another football game

Brayden did so well at the 1st football game, that we decided to take him again this past weekend. Miss Emma also got to go to the tailgating party & game.

First NC State Football Game!!!!

Last weekend Brayden got to go to his very first NC State Football Game and tailgating event!!!

We tailgated for a few hours, cook hamburgers & hotdogs, and then went into the stadium for the game! Brayden was a champ throughout the entire day, even with no afternoon nap. He hung out with Nanna, BB, Mrs Robyn, TR, Tasha, Rachel, Missy, Mary, Paw, Wendy, & Brad.

Since our seats are directly facing the sun, Bradyen got to sit with Nanna & BB for the 1st quarter then I got him & kept him with us the rest of the game. Brayden even took a little nap in Nanna's lap during the 1st quarter...surprising since it is VERY loud in their section!

Last Beach Trip of the summer

We took our last family trip to the beach for the 2009 summer a few weekends ago. The weather was great and we had a great time hanging out by the pool on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday evening, Matt & I took Brayden over to the beach for a little while to play in the sand. He had a great time digging in the sand, crawling across the beach, and exploring all over. There was a distinct path left in the sand by Brayden's shovel & big toe as he crawled all over the place.
