Busy Little Boy!

We have been very busy the past few weeks. Two weekends ago, Stacy & Megan came over for a playdate. Megan is about 9 months older than Brayden, but was very good with him & they had a great time playing in the pool. Unfortunately, I forgot to get out the camera, so I don't have any cute photos to post.

Then last week we went to our good friend Kristin's birthday party on Tuesday night. Brayden had a good time playing with the other kids there (Ben & Brian). Happy Birthday Kristin!!

On Friday we went to the Durham Bulls baseball game. Of course, I forgot the camera again. It was a great night for baseball. Not too hot or humid, which is unusual for a NC summer. Brayden did great & enjoyed watching the "big kids" behind us. We stayed until the 6th innning, but decided to leave so that Brayden didn't crash too badly. On our way out of the stadium, a foul ball came over the back of the stadium (where we were walking) and fell into the bushes very close by. A Durham Bull employee picked up the ball & gave it to Brayden to keep! How cool is that?!?!

On Saturday, I went to a friend's house & raided her toddler toys! I scored BIG on a few things & can't wait till Brayden is old enough for them. I also got a few toys that he can enjoy now. He is loving his new Leap Frog Learning Car toy!! Nanna & BB also came on Saturday afternoon to keep Brayden so that Matt & I could go to a cooking demonstration at a friend's house.

And finally on Sunday, our small group from church had an Ice Cream Social!! Yummy!!! The kids had a great time running around, playing, & eating ice cream while the adults enjoyed hanging out together. It was great to see everyone again! I am really looking forward to when we start back up with our weekly meetings in the fall! I miss seeing everyone each week!

And We're OFF!! - UPDATED

Last Thursday night, Brayden started crawling!! Not up on his hands & knees, but more like a combat crawl on his belly. Either way, he can get from point A to point B pretty quickly! We have it on video so as soon as I get a chance to edit the movie, I will post it.

That same night, he started "talking". There are not real words coming out, but he is talking with a definite cadence. Sometimes it even sounds like "gat" (cat) and "Dada". The only time I have heard him say "gat" is when Buckaroo is around so I know that he is trying to say "cat"!

Pool!

This past Saturday, my parent's came for a visit. They bought Brayden a baby pool to put in our back yard. It is just the right size to fit on the patio & will be the perfect size for Brayden & a friend!! Of course, we had to try it out :)

Happy 4th of July!

This past week we went to Sunset Beach with Matt's family for our annual 4th of July trip. The entire family was there & we had a great time together hanging out at the pool and on the beach! When we were not at the pool or on the beach, we were hanging out at Oma & Opa's house or Aunt Lynn & Uncle Sandy's house. We played a lot of Corn Hole and ate a lot of really good food.

On Thursday morning, the guys all went deep sea fishing. And even though the all had a good time, they unfortunately, only caught 4 small fish, but we still had a fish fry for dinner. After dinner, BB insisted on a family photo shoot.
One of BB's crazy ideas...believe it or not, these are ALL BB's Hawaiian print shirts!

On Friday, we headed out to the beach along with ALL of our stuff (2 huge tents, chairs for 15 people, 2 umbrellas, beach towels, bags, toys for the kids, and sevearl large coolers). We spent about 3 hours playing on the beach and Brayden even had his very own little pool under the tent to play in. After cleaning up from the beach, we got ready for a cookout with Papa & Grandma Nita over at Aunt Lynn & Uncle Sandy's house.

Before we could make it to the cookout, this is what happened after a long day on the beach & no nap...

After the cookout, it was time for corn hole and fireworks in Calabash.

On Saturday, we went shopping at the outlets, out to eat at a big family, & back out to the beach. I will post photos from pool and beach soon - check back in a few days!
