Bunny photos

Brayden's daycare did spring photos a few weeks ago. They even had a live bunny in some of the photos. Apparently Brayden was a little scared of the bunny at first but quickly warmed up. We opted not to get any pictures, but I was able to scan these in for us.

I think it so funny that they combed his hair the wrong way before the pictures! The next day when I dropped him off, his teacher said "Brayden your hair looks different today. Is is combed differently?" I guess we know how it ended up looking this way! Otherwise, I think the photos turned out pretty good.

New Words

It seems like everyday Brayden has a new word. Here is a list of some of his words (at least those that I can remember):

-sticker (sicer)
-flower (wawer)
-water (wahuh)
-out (aw)
-off
-eat eat (eat)
-juice (jui jui)
-ball (bahh)
-bear (beah)
-yes (iss)
-kitty (kiiyy)
-uh oh
-Daddy
-Apo (for Elmo)
-ni ni (night night)
-boo (book)
-eyes
-hat - Brayden is rather obsessed with hats and people wearing hats

Of course most of these are not very clear & distinct at this point, but if you know "Brayden talk" then you can understand him most of the time. I am amazed at his vocabulary growth in just the past few weeks, especially with the multiple syllable words like flower & sticker. I know one day he is going to wake up & just start talking!

Silly Brayden

I have no idea what he was doing but the faces are funny!
CHEESY!
Dancing

Bathtime last night
Mohawk!! I love it!!

A Day at the Park

Last weekend our Godson came to town & brought his parents along for a visit! Wesley is 11 months old & is the son of my best friend from childhood, Julie. We had planned to cook dinner and enjoy a relaxing afternoon/evening at home with our boys. Of course, we got a phone call from the realtor saying that we had our first showing in 30 minutes!

Luckily, Julie & Steve sold their house a few years ago & jumped right in to help us put everything away & make the house look great!

We headed out to find a park with swings for the boys. Who knew that not all parks have swings! I mean...really!! We ended up at a great (although VERY crowded) park in Morrisville.

Wesley LOVED the swing! This was his first time ever getting to swing!
The boys got to swing & then Brayden tried out some of the climbing things & slides.
We all had a great time in the warm sun & were able to go home in time to still cook dinner! Thanks Swanner's for a great afternoon/evening!!

House News

Our house is officially on the market!!! We met with a realtor about 2 weeks ago & planned to just talk about what we needed to do to get the house "market ready" but ended up deciding to go ahead & list the house. It took about 1 week to get everything together, photos, etc ready to list. So far, we have had 4 showings in the week and a half the house has actually been on the market.

I must say, it is difficult to keep the house clean, toys put away, and the dishes out of the drain everyday. Hopefully, it won't take too long to sell :)

We are not really looking too hard at houses yet, but are doing internet searches and have narrowed down the area of town that we want to buy in. I am super excited that we are starting the "new house" process! I can't wait until Brayden has a yard to run around in!!!

Music, Motion, Parks, and FUN

This past Monday I took the day off (I was going to lose my vacation day if I didn't take one) and went to visit my best friend Beth & her 2 boys. We started out by going to a Music & Motion class with Beth & Vince, who is almost 15 months). Music & Motion class is kind of like Kindermusic, but much cheaper! We had a great time running around, playing with bean bags, a parachut, and singing songs. Brayden really seemed to have a good time!

Then we headed to the park for a little while. Burlington has some great parks/playgrounds! Brayden enjoyed climbing up the steps then jumping down while holding my hands.

Then it was back to Beth's house for lunch & more playing outside. Luke just turned 3 in December and was able to make his own ham & cheese sandwich for lunch!
Brayden thoroughly enjoyed pushing a bubble mower thingy all over the driveway and then riding on the battery powered tractor. He very quickly got the hang of pressing the power button to make it go!
Luke, Vince, and Brayden also enjoyed playing in the "garden".
Brayden also really enjoyed watching the 2 cats, Ellie & Dixon.
Vince very patiently waiting for lunch to be served...
Thanks for inviting us to visit Beth! We had a great time!

My brithday

My brithday was last weekend & I celebrated for almost a week!

It all started the weekend before my birthday when my parents took Brayden on Friday & brought him back on Sunday. Brayden had a great time (see previous post) and Matt & I had a relaxing weekend by ourselves. We went to dinner with our good friends Greg & Jennfier at Stonewood Tavern & Grill. They have an awesome bruschetta that I crave all the time!

Then on Sunday my parents took us to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner! Yum Yum!! On Monday my friends Robyn & Scottie took me to lunch. Tuesday was actually my birthday & I went to lunch with some other work friends, plus Robyn made me a super yummy Kentucky Butter cake. On Tuesday night, we went to dinner with the in-laws to Carolina Ale House and Teresa made a birthday cake!

I had a great birthday & am blessed to have wonderful, supportive, loving family & friends.

Weekend with Grammy & Paw

This past weekend Brayden stayed with his Grammy & Paw (my parents). Apparently he had a blast because each time I called, he was too busy playing to talk to me! I was told he saw lots of deer in the backyard, went on many car rides in his little red car, visited with Great Buh, Ms Elaine, Great Aunt Peggy, and another family friend. It is very clear that Brayden was totally spoiled all weekend...now how do we "undo" that?!?!

On another note, Brayden has started really taking an interest in the cat, Buckaroo. He LOVES to feed Buckaroo each night & has gotten very good at carrying the food bowl to the closet, scooping out the food, & then carrying the full bowl back to its proper place. Of course, we have had a few accidents where cat kibble has scatter ALL over the floor, but Brayden always says "Uh Oh!" then starts picking up the pieces & putting the back in the bowl.

Brayden has also gotten VERY attached to 3 things. A blue bear blanket (small blanket with bear head attached), yellow duck blanket (similar to bear), and the book "Pajama Time"! These 3 things go everywhere with us these days. I am hoping we can narrow these back down to just 1 item so I don't spend all of my time looking/keeping track of these much loved possessions! Guess we will see!
