Crazy Hair Day

Today was Crazy Hair Day at daycare. I wanted Brayden to have a mohawk, but his hair is so fine & long that it just flopped over & curled. So I gelled it up good & made a "curly mohawk" on top then spiked out the sides & back. It was rather cute, but quickly fell back to it's normal ways. Oh well!

Sorry for the blurry photos...not sure what the problem was.
This is the face I get when I say "Smile!"

On another note, Brayden got sent home today from daycare with a fever. I deceided to take him on to the Dr because he has had a cough on & off for about a month now & I wanted to make sure nothing else was going on. Ends up, he has an ear infection & some gunk in his chest. He got an albuterol breathing treatment which he HATED and some antibiotic for the ear infection. Hopefully he will be all better in a day or so.

March of Dimes 2010

Matt, Brayden, & I have have formed a March of Dimes team (Team TBE) for the 2nd year in a row. We are walking in memory of our son, Taylor Benjamin, that died in December 2006. You can read more of Taylor's story here.

Our hope is that we can in some small way help prevent birth defects, stillbirths, and ensure that all babies will be born healthy. We are also walking in honor of babies like Jonah, Ethan, Addison & Aiden, a friend a work's little girl, Shelby, who was born 9 weeks early and is now a healthy 3 year old, and another friend at works grandson, Donovan, who was born 10 weeks early and is now in kindergarten.

The walk is on April 24 in RTP and we are trying to raise as much money as possible for March of Dimes. If you would like to support our team, please go to either the March of Dimes link on the side of the blog or click here.

Thank you for your support!

Happy Easter

We went to my parents house this year for Easter. We had a great, but super busy weekend with them! The weather was perfect all weekend as well!

On Saturday morning, we dyed eggs. This was Brayden's first experience and I thought he was too young but Grammy insisted and I think he had a really good time. We put a cheap shower curtain liner down on the floor & then covered Brayden in an old shirt. Luckily, we didn't make too much of a mess, except for one little incident where Brayden dropped an egg & it hit the blue dye which then splashed all over my dad! His legs were COVERED in blue egg dye! It was rather funny!

The first egg goes in the dye!
Intently listening to what I am saying! (yeah right!)
Brayden taking an egg out of the beet juice that my mom saved.
Paw helping with the egg dying

Then it was outside to hunt eggs (plastic ones that is). Apparently, Brayden got the hang of hunting eggs at his daycare Easter Egg hunt because we kept having to hide them in harder & harder places!
Two at a time
I found another one!
This is what happens when Brayden is done hunting eggs!

Miss Elaine also came over for the morning & brought Brayden a gift! He is now the very proud owner of his very own lawn mower! When we went to visit our friends a few weeks ago, he pushed their lawn mower around for about 20 minutes straight...now he has his own! Thank you Miss Elaine!!
Grammy also made egg shaped cupcakes. Brayden definitly enjoyed his! Please excuse the slightly drunk look on his face.

On Sunday morning, Brayden got to play with the real eggs for a few minutes.
He really didn't like the grass in his Easter basket.
Handing Daddy a tiny piece of shell from a broken egg.
He is so cute when he is dressed up!

Easter Egg Hunt

Last Wednesday, Brayden's daycare held an Easter Egg hunt & spring party. Neither Matt or I were able to attend, but a friend whose daughter is in the same class as Brayden took these photos and sent them to me. Thanks Ashley!!

Ashley said that Brayden wasn't exactly sure what to do at first but very quickly got the hang of "hunting" eggs. This was very evident at the end of the day when I saw his stash!

What do I do??
I get it now! This is fun!

Look at me!
Look at all of Brayden's eggs! Each egg had something in it...bouncy ball, gummy treats, stickers, etc
