Week 2

On Monday, I had another Doctors appointment. I had gained 4.5oz in 3 days!! The doctor was very happy about his!! That afternoon, Mommy's friend from work, Shannon, came to visit.

Daddy went back to work on Wednesday. We miss having Daddy around to help out & to cuddle with us all day long. Aunt Beth (Beffers) came to visit on Wednesday to help Mommy out & to keep Mommy company. I enjoyed being cuddled by Beffers all day long. Missy & TR also came by to visit on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, Grandma Scottie & Robyn came to visit during lunch. I slept through most of their visit, but I woke up the last few minutes that they were here visiting.

Here are a few more photos from this week. Aren't I a cutie???

Bathtime!!

Brayden had his second bath on Tuesday night. We were able to get a few photos after bathtime, but still don't have any photos of actual bathtime. He screamed the entire time...I guess it was cold!

My First Few Days at Home

I have been a busy little boy. Thursday night was a little long & stressful for my mommy & daddy. I cried & cried & cried. My mommy couldn't get me to eat & she didn't know what was wrong. Finally, my daddy gave me a little bit of formula in a bottle & I settled down for a few hours.

I went to the Drs office for my first check-up on Friday. I weighed 6lbs 2oz at the Drs office (the same as when I was discharged from the hospital). Because I am still a little small, none of the clothes my mommy & daddy had for me fit. My daddy went to Target yesterday & bought me several new outfits that fit a little better. Thanks Daddy!

On Friday night, my Nana & BB (Daddy's mom & dad) came to visit me at home. My Nana cooked a great dinner for my mommy & daddy (fried chicken, homemade macaroni and cheese, & butter beans). I enjoyed spending time with my BB.

Also on Friday night, I got my first bath at home. Unfortunately, my mommy & daddy were too busy taking care of me & making sure I was clean to take any pictures. Maybe next time they can take some photos/video of my bath. Here is a picture of me all warm & snugly after my bath.

Friday night, I slept much better. My daddy didn't even hear me cry all night long
On Saturday, I got to spend a little quality time with my daddy. Daddy put in my bouncy seat for the first time. I liked all of the lights & sounds but wasn't so sure about the vibrating part.

Also on Saturday, my Grammie & Papaw (Mommy's mom & Dad) came for a visit. Grammie fixed lunch & then Grammie & Paw kept me while mommy & daddy went to the mall to Motherhood Maternity. I slept for almost the entire time, but did wake up in time for a quick diaper change just before mommy & daddy came home.

Brayden's first car ride

Brayden & I were released from the hospital on Thursday, October 23. Brayden was an excellent baby in the car. He slept the entire ride home. Here are a few photos of us coming home.

Brayden Augustus Enzor is here!!!

Brayden Augustus Enzor arrived October 20, 2008, at 5:38PM. After several hours of labor with no progress, the Drs decided that a C-Section was the best way to get Brayden here safely. So they whisked me away to surgery.

Brayden weighed 6lbs 10oz at birth (we were originally told 7lbs even, but that was incorrect) and was 20 1/4 inches long with a head circumference of 34cm. He was very healthy at birth and had a good set of lungs! I could hear him screaming in the next room where they were cleaning him up.

Matt was able to stay with Brayden the entire time & got to be with him during all of his measurements, bath, shots, etc Here is a picture of Brayden all cleaned up.

I was so excited to finally see Brayden I could hardly stand the wait while the Drs finished the surgery & wheeled me back to my room.

We have been so blessed by this beautiful little boy. He has been nothing but a joy to us these past few days & Matt & I look forward to spending the rest of our lives with Brayden. He is a happy baby & really only cries when we are changing his diaper. Thank you all for your continuous prayers for his safe arrival.

Love
Matt, Jennifer & Brayden

video upload test

I thought that I would try out our new camcorder before Brayden's arrival tomorrow. This is a quick tour of the finished nursery. I hope you enjoy my poor video taking skills.

Room test from Jennifer Enzor on Vimeo.

I think I need help showing a video directly from Blogger. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate their help. A friend suggested using "Vimeo" to upload the video. This worked fine, but took a while to "convert". Maybe this is because it was a Sunday afternoon. My problem is that I don't really know how to post the video so that you can view it directly from Blogger. Please help!!!

36.5 weeks

Only 17 more days to go!!! I have to say that I really have enjoyed being pregnant thus far. Give me a few years & I will be ready to do it all over again! I really haven't been all that uncomfortable or miserable unlike so many of my friends. I was only nauseated for a few days early on & then had the really itchy rash around 7-8 weeks. Other than that, I have felt great until Sunday when the shingles appeared. And who knows if I might not have gotten shingles now whether I was pregnant or not. I am just so grateful & thankful that we have excellent Drs who know how to treat the clotting disorder & that the shots have gone so well. It is obvious from the size of my belly that the shots are working correctly!

From looking at the picture, you wouldn't think that I would be that uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there is a constant burning (like bad sunburn) pain all around the 3 patches of blisters. My entire tummy also burns like sunburn.

The Drs. aren't quite sure about the tummy burning part. It might be the shingles, but without the rash or it might be something else. Whatever it is, it is very uncomfortable! Also, the only thing that they have been able to tell me to do is to take Tylenol & to use cold compresses to help ease the pain.

For now, I don't have much more to say. Maybe I will have another update on Monday after I go back to the Dr.

Love
Jennifer, Matt & Brayden (who is kicking/moving a LOT as I write this)
