This past week has been very busy for us. On Saturday, December 20, we went to Buies Creek and celebrated Christmas with Matt's Papa and Grandma Nita. Matt & I found a book about Morrisville, NC, that had a picture of Papa in it back when they lived in Morrisville. We just had to get it for him.
Then on Sunday, December 21, we went back to Buies Creek and celebrated Christmas with Matt's Opa, Oma, Aunt Lynn, Uncle Sandy, Ron, Will, and Charity. Unfortunatly, Cousin Sid was sick so he and his mom, Mamie, didn't get to come. We missed seeing Sid walking and running around. Hopefully, Brayden and Sid will get to meet very soon.
On Wednesday, December 24, we drove to Albemarle and spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my parents. We went to Christmas Eve service & Brayden slept through almost the entire service. On Christmas morning, Brayden's great-grandmother (Great Buh) and great-great-aunt Marilyn came for lunch. After lunch we opened gifts. Brayden received lots of books, a star stacker that lights up, and a shape sorter toy. I received a Willowtree angel "Angel of my Heart" from Brayden and Matt received a collage frame with pictures of Brayden to take to work.
Santa (aka my dad) ready to pass out the gifts.
Four generations: my grandmother, Brayden, me, & my mom
Santa's Little Helper
On Christmas afternoon, we drove to Buies Creek for Christmas dinner. Uncle John & Aunt Dana came too. Brayden got more books, his first piano that attaches to the crib, clothes, and a framed Allman Brothers double album. Brayden was so worn out from all of the Christmas festivities that he slept ALL night (7 hours)! That was really his gift to me!
We all had a great time and enjoyed being with family for several days. However, we were all REALLY tired after all of the traveling!

Welcome Baby Vince!
My friend Beth, her husband Jeffrey, and their son Luke welcomed a healthy baby boy on Saturday, December 20 (also Beth & Jeffrey's 5th anniversary)! Baby Vince weighed in at 9 pounds 9 ounces. Hopefully, Brayden & Vince will be very good friends growing up. I can't wait to meet Baby Vince & see the new Coker family!
Welcome Baby Leah!
My friend Ashley, her husband Chris, & daughter Jessica welcomed a healthy baby girl on Friday, December 19. Baby Leah weighed in at 7 pounds 5 ounces. Brayden & Leah will quite possibly be in the same classroom at daycare. Maybe they will be baby girlfriend & boyfriend :)

2 Month Check-Up
Today was Brayden's 2 Month Check-up. I can't believe that my baby is already 2 months old! The past 2 months have FLOWN by!
He weighed in at 10 pounds 1/2 ounce. That is a 1 pound gain in 18 days! He is still only in the 17% percentile for weight, but the Dr said this was fine. He is obviously growing and doing well...he is just going to be a smaller baby. That is fine with me though, as long as he remains healthy. He has also grown 1/2 inch in the past month, so now he is at 22 1/2 inches.
Brayden is smiling and laughing more each day. Matt finally was able to get a good shot of him laughing.
Brayden also got 4 vaccines today. 3 shots & 1 oral vaccine. After screaming for about 2 minutes from the shots, he calmed down & has been fine ever since. He does seem a bit sleepier this afternoon than normal. Hopefully, this will be the only side effect that he has.

A Week in Pictures
We have been very busy this week.
On Monday, Brayden & mommy went to each lunch with Mommy's friends at work. Brayden wore his new outfit with matching hat & socks (the socks are too big & wouldn't stay on, but at least it was warm on Monday).
On Wednesday, Grammy, Paw, Brayden, Daddy, & Mommy went to the NCSU vs ECU basketball game. Brayden wore his new NC State Converse shoes and his Santa Clause hat.
On Thursday evening, our small group at church went Christmas Caroling at an assisted living home in Raleigh. The residents really seemed to enjoy our singing and watching all of the babies. Brayden wore one of his Christmas outfits and Santa Clause hat.
On Saturday, we are heading to Buies Creek for Christmas with Papa, Grandma Nita, Uncle John, Aunt Dana, Nana, & BB. Then on Sunday, we will go back to Buies Creek for Christmas with Oma, Opa, Aunt Lynn, Uncle Sandy, Ron, Mamie, Sid, Will, Charity, Uncle John, Aunt Dana, Nana, & BB. Pictures to come next week from these festivities!
Buckaroo the cat has also enjoyed Christmas this year. Last year he never acknowledged the Christmas tree (at least that we ever saw). This year, he has enjoyed sleeping under the tree, but carefully walks around the gifts so that he doesn't mess them up. This morning I caught him looking everywhere under the tree for a place to get, but he never found a place with all of the gifts under the tree.

A Very Happy Baby!
We have been busy Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts the past few days. Brayden has been very good throughout all of the shopping trips.
Brayden has really started developing a personality the past week or so. He smiles a lot now and will smile back at you when you smile at him.
One of our favorites faces is when he pouts. Brayden can make his lower lip stick out a mile...Matt says he will trip on it one day if he isn't careful. Brayden also loves looking at the lights and at himself in the mirror. I don't think he realizes that he is looking at himself yet, but he still likes to look in the mirror. He is getting better at holding his head up and can "stand" up if you let him. His kicking is also getting much stronger...Matt still says he will be a soccer player.
He is a very happy baby and generally wakes up each morning in a great mood. I love our mornings together when we talk and sing together. Here is a video of Brayden "talking". This was taken shortly after bathtime, which I am happy to report is going much smoother now!

Most days, Brayden enjoys Tummy Time and playing on his floor mat. He is especially fond of the Red bird and Red duck hanging from his floor mat. The musical star that lights up is also a big hit!

Visit with old friends
Today, Brayden & I had special guests come to visit. One of my best friends from high school, Jenny, came to visit. Jenny has 2 boys, Tyler who is almost 10 and Ethan who is almost 3. Jenny & her family moved from Albemarle to New Mexico about 1 year ago, so the chance to see them was extra special. We met up with another one of our good friends from high school for lunch. Stacy lives in Durham and has a 9 month old little girl, named Megan. We had a great time catching up and seeing each others kids. Hopefully we can continue to keep in touch throughout the years. Ladies, I had a great time today & I hope we can all see each other again soon.

Development & Milestones
Brayden has been holding his head up pretty well for a few weeks now, but each day he gets better & better at it. In the next few weeks he will be holding his head up all the time by himself. Brayden has also started smiling at things and he started laughing this weekend! What a special treat to see him laugh & smile!! I LOVE IT!!
Pictures to come...we never have the camera ready when he smiles or laughs.
So here are my attempts to get picture of a smile. Like I said, we never seem to have the camera ready or at hand. Plus I think Brayden has figured out that we want to capture these things & refuses to smile when I have the camera.

Dr visit
Both Brayden & I have colds! We both got sick over the holiday weekend.
I think Brayden is getting better, but I wanted to take him to the Dr today, just to make sure that his lungs were clear, which they were. He has been running a low grade (99.9 and less) fever since Wednesday or Thursday of last week and has been really congested with a cough/sneeze every once in a while. The doctor said that everything was good, just your standard run of the mill cold. I got the basic instructions...saline drops, bulb suction, humidifier, sleep on an incline. Brayden has been sleeping in the bouncy seat for the past 2 nights and this definitely seems to help him sleep better. I have figured out a way to swaddle him, but still strap him in.
On a positive note from the doctors appointment today, Brayden weighed in at a WHOPPING 9 pounds 2 ounces (with diaper on)!!! They said to allow about 2 ounces for the diaper, so that is still 9 pounds!!! I can't believe he has gained about 3 pounds since we came home from the hospital!! He is getting so big already!!

Happy Thanksgiving
We went to Matt's parents house (BB & Nana) for Thanksgiving. Aunt Dana & Uncle John were also there, so Brayden got lots of loving all day long. While we were there, Matt's grandparents, Papa & Grandma Nita, came by for a visit. This was their first time meeting Brayden. We also took a picture of all the Enzor men together.
BB is an incredible musician and writes all types of music. When we found out that we were having a boy and had decided that his name would be Brayden Augustus, BB decided that his nickname would be Auggie. Then BB wrote a song entitled "Auggie's Revenge".
Untitled from Jennifer Enzor on Vimeo.
On Thursday, I asked BB to play the song for Brayden. Brayden really seemed to enjoy listening to the music. BB continued playing several other songs & Brayden just watched & watched the entire time. Hopefully, he will get his BB's musical talent!
BB also wrote a song when we lost Taylor. I am hoping to get a video of BB playing "Taylor's Lullaby" sometime as well. It is a beautiful, peaceful song.
Happy Thanksgiving to All!

Visit to Beth's house
Road trip
On Friday, Brayden & I hopped into the car & went to Albemarle for the weekend. We had a busy weekend visiting with Paw & Grammie. We dressed Brayden in all of his NCSU attire & did a "photo shoot". Once again, he wasn't so happy about having his picture taken so many times, but we got some really good photos.
Learning how to pass the ball.
And hold the ball.
So tired from all of the photos.
On Friday afternoon, we went to see Mawmaw Rachel's Hospice Tree. It is decorated with all kinds of beach & NCSU things in memory of Pawpaw Don.
Grammie's friend, Elaine, also came to visit on Friday. Friday night was bathtime. Grammie & Paw assisted with Brayden's bath & we got some more photos, but they are on Grammie's camera.
On Saturday morning, Brayden's Great-Great Aunt Peggy came to visit.
Then on Saturday afternoon, after we watched the NCSU vs UNC football game, Grammie, Paw, Brayden, & I went to Concord Mills mall to shop - we didnt' really find anything to buy though. Brayden was a very good boy during our mall ventures.
Then we meet 2 of Mommy's friends from high school for dinner. Mommy's friend, Renee, has a little boy named Hayden, who is almost 2 years old. Brayden & Hayden got to meet for the first time. I am sure that in a few months, Hayden will be teaching Brayden all sorts of things :)
We had a good time catching up and Brayden slept though the entire dinner, even with all of the loud music and talking.
On Sunday morning, Brayden spent some quality time sleeping with Paw and Grammie. Brayden was also getting to know some of Grammie & Paw's cats. This is Prissy.

1 Month checkup
Today was Brayden's 1 month check-up. He weighed in at 7 pounds 15.5 ounces!! He is still 20 1/4 inches long, although I think he has gotten longer. He is a healthy, happy baby and is doing very well. Unfortunately, he has developed baby eczema which the Dr said is pretty common. Hopefully, it will clear up in the next few weeks. I will post some new pictures in the next few days.
So I measured Brayden myself at home today (Sunday) and he was 22 inches long. I did it 3 times to make sure that I hadn't messed up. I think the Drs office was a little off on Thursday. I really thought he had gotten longer.

Week 3 update
Sorry that I haven't updated the blog recently. I can't believe that our little baby is now 4 weeks old & isn't a little baby anymore!
Brayden continues to thrive & grow well. We go back to the Dr on Thursday, so I will have an official weight/length update then. I think he has gained at least 1/2 -3/4 of a pound in the past 2 weeks. I also think he has gotten longer! Some of the little clothes we bought when we first came home from the hospital no longer fit at all!
Brayden & I have been busy the past week or so. Almost everyday, we go somewhere...Wal-Mart, Target, the grocery store, Carter's, etc or someone has come to visit us.
Grammie & Paw came up again to visit for the afternoon 2 weekends ago & of course we took some more pictures.
Last Tuesday, Mommy's friend from high school, Stacy came to visit. Stacy brought her baby, Megan along as well. Megan is such a cutie pie and is starting to get into everything!
Last Wednesday, we went to visit Daddy at work & took Daddy to lunch. It was a nice outing & all of the people at Daddy's office thought Brayden was very cute! Next time, we will take pictures to post.
Bradyen also spent some time with Uncle John (who was finally over his cold) and Aunt Dana.
This past weekend, Nana & BB babysat so that Daddy & I could go to Babies R Us & Old Navy. Mommy bought 3 new shirts that are NOT maternity tops!! How exciting!
Brayden has also moved from the bassinet in our bedroom to the crib in the nursery! I started out by letting Brayden take his morning nap in the crib when I was upstairs getting dressed & cleaning up. Then on Friday night, he slept in the crib all night for the first time. I slept in the nursery on Friday night as well (there is a bed in the room already). Brayden did just fine sleeping in his "big boy bed". Then on Saturday night, he slept in the nursery & I slept in our bedroom. We used the monitor for the first time (Thanks Rachel, TR, & Noelle)! I love our monitor because it will alarm if Brayden stops breathing! This give me so much more comfort than a regular monitor.

Music Time
I came downstairs to this on Sunday morning and had to capture it on video. For those of you that know the Enzor family, this is classic. For those of you that don't know the Enzor family as well, watching/listening to the Allman Brothers is a tradition.

Family Time
Saturday morning was Family Time in the Enzor house. First, Daddy & Brayden spent time hanging out on the couch & then Mommy & Brayden read several books together.
Afterwards, Brayden got his 3rd bath at home. We FINALLY got 1 photo during bathtime. He is still not very fond of bathtime, but each time seems to be a little better than the last. Maybe we are all finally getting the hang of it :)
We also went to lunch at Chargrill & on a walk through the neighborhood since it was such a beautiful day. Of course there was a bit of football watching going on in the afternoon. What type of Saturday in the fall would it be without watching football on TV?

Dr. appointment
Brayden had his 2 week check-up on Wednesday. He had gained 8 ounces in 8 days, so he is now up to 6 pounds 14 ounces (probably more than that now though). Otherwise, the Dr said that he was growing & developing normally. We go back in 2 weeks for another weight check.
He is still a very good baby. He sleeps well & is up most nights about 3 times. He eats & goes right back to sleep most nights (not all though). When he is asleep, he sleeps very well, much like his daddy.

Go Pack!!!!
Last night was the first NCSU basketball game. It was an exhibition game against Fort Valley State and was held in Reynolds Coliseum. Matt & I decided to get tickets to the game & to take Brayden with us. We strapped Brayden into the Baby Bjorn & off we went. He slept through the entire first half even though it was REALLY LOUD and rather hot in Reynolds. After taking a few photos at half-time, we decided that it was too warm for Brayden to stay for the entire game and left. We are still working on teaching Brayden how to make the "Wolf" sign with his hands...maybe by the next game in a few weeks he will have figured it out :)
Lunch with Mommy's work friends
Yesterday, Mommy & Brayden went to Duke to visit everyone at SORF. Mommy FINALLY (after 7 years) got a parking space in the gated lot across the street from SORF. This is great because now Mommy will be guarenteed a parking space within walking distance to SORF.
We went to lunch at Nosh (yummy food!) and Brayden slept through the entire lunch. Wendy, the owner of Nosh, thought that Brayden was a very cute baby. Here are a few photos of the lunch party at Nosh.
